New Music: Stars and Diamond Rings swap remixes

In celebration of their joint U.S. tour (kicking off tomorrow in Portland, ME) and shared Canadian-ness, indie-rock outfit Stars and electro-pop maestro John ORegan (AKA Diamond Rings) have swapped remixes of songs off each others new records.

In ORegans capable hands, Stars Theory of Relativity has been transformed into a hit from a 70s Moroccan discotheque, complete with handclaps, laser-y synths, and vibraslap. Taking a less extreme approach, Stars merely tweak ORegans Runaway Love, making it bigger-sounding and playing up the slight hip-hop lean courtesy of a rapid-fire 808 beat.
