Burglary suspect jumps from second story, bitten by police dog
A man who stormed into a Lancaster-area apartment and jumped from a second-floor window with deputies in pursuit was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and burglary, authorities said Thursday night.
The chase began around 11 a.m. Thursday when deputies spotted Juan Moreno, wanted in connection with an auto theft, near 50th Street West and Avenue L-10.
He ran into an apartment building and forced his way into two units, jumping from the window of the second unit and fleeing on the street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies with a search dog found Moreno inside a third apartment. He was bitten by the dog and arrested, authorities said.
