I love summer for its fruits: strawberries, cherries and most of all raspberries, which I could eat by the truckloads. But that said, it's really fall, with its apples and pears, squashes and pumpkins, pomegranates and cranberries, that excites my cooking gene. And so it happened today, when I saw produce in the grocery store that I handn't seen in months. I bought it all. Then I went home to cook.
