A Food Lover's Most Valuable Tool

When I recently interviewed celebrity chef Tyler Florence, I was struck when he said he frequently takes photos of food. He snaps images of dishes he's developing and takes pics at restaurants. Just like millions of food fans, who sometimes post their photos on blogs. Some of the most succulent stuff is now even casually called food porn. Oh baby.

As a restaurant reviewer, my Cannon PowerShot was invaluable. Because I didn't take notes while I was eating -- one of the ways anonymous critics try to stay undercover -- these snapshots helped me recall details about the dish.
