The cloudless sky led to rapid heating once I was out of the highlands. By noon it was 101 when you stopped anywhere.
So I called it a day in Colby and decided I would have to leave earlier in the day to make decent time before the killer temp arrives. Today I went through 2 vest charges and Camelbak fillings just in the 4 hours of riding.
The Visitor Ctr gent in Colby was very helpful wih motel and cafe rec's. After unpacking I walked (with my wet vest on) to Smoffee's Bakery & Bistro for lunch/dinner. They usually have live music on Friday evenings but there is a bluegrass fest in town tonight so the Bistro is just open for food. Very friendly & helpful folks so I hope they do well -...
