Wise Words: Just Don’t Give A Damn

Last night I had an interesting conversation with a friend. At 31 she decided to let her hair go natural, which brought up some issues she didnt expect.

While shes been loving the freedom of her natural hairnot worrying about it going back in a hot room after a hard press, for examplesome folks in her family havent been so supportive. Their comments and little jabs started to dig into her ego and expose some insecurities that shed held onto for years. But last night, as she let the wind blow through her thick mane while we cruised down the street after having a FABULOUS evening, she said she just didnt give a damn anymore. She was grown and happy and thats all that mattered.
