British designer Steuart Padwick has created the Belly Desk.

The Belly Desk is an elegantly understated design. Featuring acurvaceousand full figured top with a storage underbelly, this desk maintains a deceptively slender silhouette with subtly sloping lines and smooth tapered legs. Its painted tabletop is perfectly balanced on solid oak legs, highlighting the purity of its form and providing rich contrast that warms any modern office or entryway. One deep drawer on traditional wooden runners offers ample storage space to conceal various gadgets, tools, and documents and keep its spacious surface free of clutter.

Happy Meals, Photographer Travels the U.S. to Take Portraits of McDonald’s Customers

Since last December photographer Nolan Conway has been traveling the U.S. taking fascinating portraits of McDonalds customers for his series Happy Meals. So far Conway has visited about 150 restaurants in 22 states. He focuses on rural parts of the country because he finds the customers there to be more varied and interesting. The series was recently featured in the New York Times Magazine and Wired. Conway is developing the project into a photo book.

Inspired by the Ionic architecture order, Studio 65 designed a seat, chaise and side table for lounging entitled Colonna. By literally breaking down a column, the designers developed three seating units, each with a well designed personality. The upper part of the stack, Capitello, is also the most alluring one, presenting interesting details from every standpoint and offering a high level of comfort.

The middle piece (Attica) is a cozy seat with a dotted black and white cushion- a small, yet very interesting addition to the overall composition. Attica TL is the base, consisting of a central table with a glass top. Terraforming Earth

The original .png file of the above was posted on Computers Club Drawing Society.
Initially it was on a spare, light blue background but then I decided it needed something like the surface of Venus.
Seeing Rick Silva's "En Plein Air" show at Transfer Gallery and the large-format 3D landscapes on his blog inspired me to enlarge the above to 800 x 800. Am generally not a bicubic smoothing fan and am still weighing whether the scale boost adds anything.
