Little Joe McLerran has made quite a name for himself since first appearing on the national scene in a big way at the 2006 International Blues Challenge. McLerran had been playing long before that throughout the Mountain West and Southwestern Plains regions of the United States long before that. Having earned his nickname from Homesick James and Johnny Long, it's easy to tell you that McLerran cut his teeth on both Piedmont and Delta Blues in his teens and early twenties. McLerran is considered by many to be the modern-day torchbearer for pre-war blues styles.
