We know what the state of Foamposite is today; campouts, riots, $220 retail, people clamoring for more and more. So what was it like before the Foamposite even hit stores? Weve got a rare look at a Nike wear-test sample of the Air Foamposite One, a shoe that was developed after Nikes Advanced Product Engineering team developed Foamposite (a term coined by Toren Orzeck). As you can see, this wear-test sample features no Air Penny 1-Cent logo around the shoe and the traction ridges on the outsole are also completely different than what was released. Perhaps the funkiest detail of this sample is the molded NIKE on the upper, which was removed in production to give the shoe the flawless and one-piece effect.
